I would ask myself, on the "extra" details "Has anyone, including me, ever used this level of detail once the report is filed? Can I think of a likely circumstance in our system where someone would use them?" If the answer to both these questions is NO, then I would simplify the report. If you or another member of the organization has found the details useful, or are likely to, then I would advise keeping them, since it is apparently not too much trouble to do so.
