Speaking of hockey.

For the playoffs my wife allowed (yes allowed :whip: ) me to purchase a Sony HDTV with 1080i.

All I can say is that sports is unbelievable in HD. :mg:

There may be some misrepresentation in that poll. Being from North America I would choose soccer (as I did) but I also see a vast amount of the forum population that is outside NA where its referred to as football. Since soccer (pitch football) is the worlds most common and popular sport I would wager that the poll is a tad skewed.

In fairness...the poll should be asking "North American (or Gridiron) Football" rather than 'football'...I'll wager that it would not have received as many votes.

Why don't da poll have any dar gum Nascar up der in it?

I vote Ice Hockey, what other sport can you not have an entire professional season in and no one really complains? That aside, I prefer the fast pace, full contact, sport of ice hockey...it's so much fun to play and to watch and I appreciate the skill it takes to compete...though I will say I prefer college over any pro teams, they have more at stake and thus play with more vigor.

How about my Texas Rangers last night?? 30-3?:agree1:

They can do things like that all the time, but will never take the time and effort to build a playoff winning team!

Was anyone watching it? Did you get bored with all the runs?

As a baseball fan, I thought that was so much fun to watch. I also am impressed with Julio Franco (older than me - ugh) and still playing. I think I heard that he has a lifetime avg. of .299 over 30 years. I remember, when I was 'young' and he played for the Tribe.

Speaking of the Tribe - keep it up!

L

PS - I'm still playing too - softball is a little different, but if you love the sport, you have to play! Go Julio! Of course Cal is my all time favorite.

All the time?? Last time a team scored that many runs was over 100 years ago. I do have one question, how in the he ll did the Texas relief pitcher earn a save in that game, he came in when the score was 14-3????

Lets just hope the Yankees can keep winning and make the playoffs.
