Tier 2 supplier Ford specific requirments

I would like to get a dialogue going on how tier 2 suppliers are affected with the Nov 2003 Ford customer specific requirements for TS 16949:2002.
We have a customer that we will begin shipping to within the next month,
that sells directly to Ford. I would like information on their web qpr portral.
I have asked for permission but not yet received.

We also sell directly to a customer that supplies Ford. We ask for access to the Ford supplier throught COVISINT. We were denied access to the portal simply because we did not have a Ford supplier code. Our customer that we supply to is Visteon. I have discussed this with them and have been told the same thing. No access.

As I see it, if you do not sell directly to Ford, you do not have to comply with the CSR`s. Your direct customer does. You would have to comply with your direct customers CSR`s. In our case Visteon, which has their own CSR`s.

Yep. I'll confirm that. If you dont have a 5 letter GSDB code there is no access.
The bottom line is that 16949 requires that you cascade the standard downward by using certified suppliers. If Ford gives their supplier a hard time by demanding 100% fulfillment of CSRs then that supplier will have to pass on the requirements to you.
In real life, provided the supplier delivers on-time with zero ppm and keeps the system data (assessments, certificates etc) updated ie gives the STA no problems, they will be left alone and so will you.
