I have just reviewed
http://www.aiag.org /pub/ and note that
TS . . . ISO/TS 16949 - Quality Systems - Automotive suppliers - Particular
requirements for the application of ISO 9001:1994
The International Automotive Task Force, IATF, has developed an optional common
automotive catalogue based on ISO 9001:1994, which along with use of the
customer-specific requirements and the common IATF recognized registration scheme,
will satisfy the current quality system requirements for AVSQ (Italian), EAQF (French),
QS-9000 (American) and VDA6.1 (German). Note: The ISO/TS 16949 does not
replace QS-9000; It is an optional document. Use of ISO/TS 16949 will eliminate the
need for multiple certifications. The ISO/TS 16949 customer-specific manual must be
purchased separately — see below.
Status: First Edition dated March, 1999.
