How long should training and competency records be kept, particularly in the UK Health Service? I can't find any definitive reference to this which surprised me.

I don't know about the health care field, but you should know what training an employee has received as long as they are employed, at a bare minimum, no?

There may be a requirement stated by the NHS for how long you need to keep them. Obviously you need to keep them for the duration of the person's employment but there may be a requirement to keep them for some time after the person has left in case of any 'enquiries' later down the line.

I was told by one senior HR friend that it is five (5) years in my country. Only a handful of people seems to be aware of this requirement.
