We are an ISO 9001:2015 processing, warehousing, and distribution of metal products company, looking for industry "best practices" when establishing criteria for evaluating external transportation (trucking) service providers. Very few trucking/carrier/transportation service providers have an established QMS. All of our material and outside process providers have a minimum ISO 9001 or ISO/TS 16949 certification.
Question- Is there an industry standard certification for trucking that will suffice for determining the status of their quality system.
Note: I'm try to avoid having to audit or self survey hundreds of transportation providers. We are an ISO 9001:2015 processing, warehousing, and distribution of metal products company, looking for industry "best practices" when establishing criteria for evaluating external transportation (trucking) service providers.
