Hi Folks!

Does anyone have an auditor training presentation for TS16949? I've searched the site and have found a few old revisions, but nothing to the current rev.

My company sent our internal audit team out for ISO/AS9100 auditor training, thinking that any formal auditor training would be sufficient, but we were recently told in our pre-audit, that we must do a TS specific training. I'm working on putting one together, but am running out of time!

Thank you all very much for being here!

If you don't find free material that suits your needs, you might consider this paid material.

PS. I have no affiliation with the organization, nor I have used their material. I just know they exist and offer this type of training documentation.

PS2. Make sure that none of your automotive customers have specific requirements for internal auditor qualification/training. If I remember correctly, Ford used to have their own set of requirements.

Thanks Reg, Our customers are heavy trucking and have no CSR for internal auditing.

TS does not state a specific requirement as to what kind of training is required. Some customers like Ford do specify certain aspects of training, such as...gee, it should be done by someone qualified in TS.

HOWEVER, TS DOES require that auditors demonstrate competency. Having a certificate alone does not make you competent, but it helps. The proof is in the pudding. If the audits demonstrate competency, have good content, FOLLOWED A PROCESS APPROACH, had meaningful findings....the preponderance of evidence would suggest your auditors were competent, even if they took an ISO/AS training. On the other hand, if these criteria are not in evidence, odds are, they are not competent. Again, the training is only one criteria.

Just for the record, I have written a free white paper on internal auditing of process approach for my registrar - Smithers. A short version is available on their website. However, I have posted a free copy of the full white paper on my website - www.jilling.com (Tools Tab). It is free, it is easy to read, and it will give you a bunch of good information about Process Approach internal auditing.

I also provide a really worthwhile training class in internal auditing techniques for TS and ISO. After you read the white paper, if you are interested, let me know....

ISO/AS9100 is completely different from ISO TS .. ISO TS standard training is only a starting point for the internal audit team. The member should be also competent in other quality tools like FMA, control plan, PPAP, APQP, Msa, Spc.
ISO TS has additional requirements with respect to ISO 9001, more stringent being dedicated to the automotive market supplier.
Consider that ISO TS requirement and the knowledge and the application of above quality tools shall be spread across all the organization, otherwise it will be very difficult to implement this QMS.
