I am joining this discussion a little late, but would like to assist.
One of my clients sells several bulk chemicals in the auto industry (to Ford),
and we are TS registered. We do have many situations where individual TS
requirements do not make sense for us. In many cases we have been able
to get the customer Supplier Quality Engineer to waive the requirements.
For example, we too have trouble with Gage R & R for lab procedures, but
instead look at measurement system error. Another area which is difficult
is that many of our raw materials are purchasedD from distributors, who are
not ISO registered, and come from factories who may be unknown, or may
not be registered. Ford provides an exemption to the ISO 9001 requirement
for our suppliers, provided that we monitor their quality ("develop the supplier"). We do this by testing the product with incoming inspections, and verifying compliance 100%.
Do you have some specific questions to discuss?
