Good Day All!

Looking forward to the long weekend here in Canada! I think I need a rest from all of these procedures :)

My question is does anyone have a sample of their TS-16949 "approved" procedure for 7.5.1.5 Management of Production Tooling that I could view?

Much appreciated!

I guess I would ask why do you need a written procedure for management of production tooling. We don't have one, but we do have a system in place and controlled.

Here's ours. It's not a separate procedure, but is included in a procedure that covers all of 7.5.1.

6.6 Management of Production Tooling

6.6.1 Tooling Drawings will be located in Drawing Books in the Engineering
Drawing Cabinet.
6.6.2 All Drawings Books will contain a Master Drawing List at the front of the book.
6.6.3 All drawing modifications must be approved and dated by an Engineering Coordinator or Manager.
6.6.4 All drawing modifications will include an update to the Master Drawing List and a replacement of the Tooling Drawing in the book.
6.6.5 New Tooling Drawings require a unique drawing number. New drawings will
be added to the appropriate Drawing Book and Master Drawing List.
6.6.6 The Engineer who modifies or creates a new tooling drawing must notify the
MRO, Maintenance, Production, and Engineering Departments. The details of
the change or addition will be communicated via email.
6.6.7 The Die Maintenance History Report (Form #) records the actual die maintenance history.

That's all we have, and as far as I know it was fine by our registrar, as it hasn't been modified since our certification audit.

Nathan,

Since you sound a little desperate to have example, I have sanitized a procedure and flow for one of the tooling management procedures from my past (2001).

Mr. Nathan,

The vsd (VISIO) file is just the flow that is in the procedural document (Word). I have no idea why you can not open the Word file. I do not know what else I can do for you.

Sorry,
Doug
