TS 16949 Clause 7.4.3.2 - Help with Delivered Product Quality

We are in the process of being TS 16949 certified. During our Stage 2 audit, we were issued a nonconformance against 7.4.3.2 because supplier quality performance is not clearly tracked. Our quality issues are tracked but by exception. Quality performance of all suppliers is not tracked.

There is no way for us to track this with our current business software. Instead of re-inventing the wheel, I was wondering if anybody is aware of a "canned" program that we might be able to use to satisfy this requirement. We are a mid-sized company and cost is of some concern. I am also open to other ideas. Thanks In Advance for your help. - Regards, Sam

Welcome to the Cove.

I think I need a little more information. You say you track quality "issues" but quality performance of all suppliers is not tracked. Does that mean whenever an issue is raised it is tracked or only issues raised against certain suppliers?

What does your procedure say? Does it allow for the performance of suppliers without issues to be "assumed/recorded" as satisfactory? Do you track delivery for all suppliers? Do you notify your suppliers when there is an issue with their performance (delivery / quality / etc.)? Can you show evidence of your authority over their poor performance? Is there a "Rating System" or other documented "control system"?

The requirements are that you monitor certain indicators of performance of your suppliers. There is no requirement as to how you must monitor them. If you outline your company method in a procedure and follow the procedure, there should be no reason to issue a nonconformance.

Your comment "supplier quality performance is not clearly tracked" makes me question what the entire N/C was. Is it that there is no procedure? Are there no records? Have you not yet had an issue so there is no evidence?

I use this every month and I have 850 suppliers between (5 of 12 compaines)
I track.
I have already put on the forum the supplier ppt for problem supplier and what there response should be when they come in to present it to you.

I am on your side.

cl 7.4.3.2: If the requirement is to monitor supplier performance, of the 5 methods discussed in the bullet points, 4 are "by exception." Customer disruptions, field returns, incidents of premium frieght, and customer notifications.

Only delivery performance is not "by exception." But, if the exceptions to good delivery are 2.7%, then the ontime delivery performance must be 97.3%. Thus, delivery can be monitored by exception as well.

If it is good enough for the standard, then auditors should accept it as well. But, I would expect you to show clear, well-defined methods, just just a simple verbal answer. if you have these, I believe you comply with the standards.

i want to use this sheet to do something after alter some glossary, could you explain to me clear the Vonore Q PPM sheet?
