TS 16949 Implementation - Have a question on defining processes

Welty

I am working on implementation of TS 16949. Have a question on defining processes. I have identified all manufacturing process, but I am unsure of what others can be identified. Are they looking for Sales, purchasing, Marketing....

Any examples would be appreciated.

Also any input on product realization......:bonk:

"Processes" as used in ISO9001:2000 has the broader meaning of Purchashing, Quality Planning, etc. In TS16949 - 2002, it carries this meaning as well and where the TS standard wants the organization to consider manufacturing processes only, it will state such. By the way, defining processes is done with a logical flow a steps for any process. This can be done verbally or with a flow chart. Don't let the term "process" throw you off.

Hi Paul

The link for (Doc: ISO/TC 176/SC 2/N 544R) is - I think - https://isotc176sc2.elysium-ltd.net - then click on the link Guidance on the Process Approach to quality management systems

This document is even more valuable: (broken link removed)

Some basic core processes to start with;
Marketing
Sales
Accounting
Product Design
Process Design
Product Production
Delivery.

These will vary with your organization. They can then be broken down into support processes using the "inputs, acvtivities, outputs" process method.

Process

I have found that within two of the big threes customer specifics, they include a note that states " A procedure may replace process" in cl 4.1.1.2.

With our existing APQP, PPAP, Purchasing ext....procedure, these are also our process.

Or, am I overly confusing things?
