Turtle Diagram "template"

New, don't hurt me
Hey all,

I am doing a turtle diagram as a new QC supervisor. Take a look, and feel free to tear me to shreds(though, I'll probably refuse to change the format). It's in progress so I will update as I go.

I will be the first to say I don't know Turtle Diagrams as much as I should (I have them but I don't really use them). That being said, I was under the assumption that a turtle diagram was for a single process, a diagram for Management, a diagram for Engineering, and diagram for Manufacturing. I don't know how well it will work having all them on the same 'page'. From an ascetics view, I am not a fan of the blue background/white lettering (however, I am color stupid so it might just be me).

As Michael stated a Turtle Diagram is usually created to detail the inputs/outputs of a single process, detailing the Who, With, What etc.

What've you've illustrated above is a high level overall overview of your organisations process(es) thus the Inputs & Outputs don't really make sense (at least to me) in the context of this diagram when multiple processes are referenced.

What is it exactly that you're trying to achieve? to map your organisations overall processes/interactions?

Edit: I recommend this above free browser based workflow process creator. IT would help you & those interacting with your process map to keep this as simple as possible. Flowchart Maker & Online Diagram Software

@Dazzur,

I thought it would be a nice way to show how the inputs and outputs link together, but alright. I am trying to show how the organization interacts. I've got a strong push from production to explain through turtle diagrams how the company works. This was their suggestion. I'm open for debate!

thanks for the flowchart tool also.

Can you emphasize on this? (methodology behind hi vis slides?)

To me, the white text on blue background is hard to read. If you are questioning the 'color stupid' comment, I don't have any feel or concept of color combinations that work well, I'm not color blind, just have ability to care about colors.

It sounds like you might want what I call an "interaction of processes". I will attach a copy of what I have. As a note, this is ISO9001.

Thanks Mike, (hope that's alright if I call you mike)

as for what i shared:

I agree, I think this is a blend of a process flow map and a turtle diagram, would you agree? I will look at this and consider it for my meeting with production today. I think in this meeting I will propose an exercise that takes the "diagram" I shared and uses it for a process flow chart/diagram.

and for what you had shared:

Great, are the numbers associated sections of the respective company's quality manual?

Yes, Company quality manual and ISO9001:2015 standard. We do not do Engineering or design so that is not a part of our process.
