Use of ANSI Standard for Metric Thread Plug Gage?

Dear Sirs,

As i know normally we will use ISO STD for metric unit and ANSI STD for Imperial unit.

We received M4.5 thread plug gage from gage manufacturer, from the verification certificate the supplier refer to ANSI STD which is abnormal in this case.


Can anybody please advise is it okay to refer ANSI STD from metric unit? Thank you.
