Can KPI's be determines as quality objectives.

Ie one of our KPI's is for our beam shop productivity to reach a target of 7.5 hours. Beam shop productivity is determined each week.

Could this be deemed a quality objective?

IMO yes, your objective would be "Increase productivity of beam shop" and to demonstrate that your are achieving this, then you use your KPI...

Yes, quality objectives are characterized by a statement , then these objectives shall be S.M.A.R.T. where M stands for measurable through a KPI.
Generally speaking , you can also have quality objectives that are linked to the ones of perfomance related.

Objectives must be measurable and KPI's as the word goes is a measure (indicator) of how much has the selected performance (The key) been met against the set target.
They come around to the same ~~~
Maintaining KPI for each employees is found very useful. But the problem is somewhere it is not measurable. Do you have any sample employee's KRA and KPI template or something to have a look at it how it can be measurable. Soliciting your help.

I have attatched our Quality Objectives. We are a company seeking ISO 9001:2008 accreditation for the first time.

Would these objectives suffice to meet the requirement. Each is measured and reviewed each week as part of our KPI meeting.

One thing im aware of is that the standard calls for " Quality objectives established at relevant functions". Our company is 70 employee strong. Would the objectives I have identified be enough?

What I think about KPI's, especially in terms of those which look like production KPI's is to create a KPI tree. So everyone from shopfloor upwards to see out that KPI links in to achieve business objectives and annual plans. Often they don't and are just a short term activity. If the KPI doesn't go anywhere it brcomes meaningless. Each area should have its own KPI tree to define its objectives. Actually its rare to see these trees and people die under a mountain of data and reporting stats that to others don't seem to mean much because they don't understand the links to overall objectives
