VDA 19.2 Illig value vs. allowed particle size

Dears,
is any direct dependence /connection between Illig value (VDA 19.2 point G. 2 / G 2.3) and allowed particle size?
What I mean: if allowed particle size for produced part is for example 500µm, and illig value will be for example 750 - that means that environmet is not adequate for this process or there is another dependence?

I am not 100% what you mean by dependence; but your own response is correct "the environment is not adequate for the process".

I will attempt to understand what you mean by dependence here - the 'dependence' would be, do you have systems that can detect a particle size greater than 500 and then be able to scrap that part so it doesn't make it to the customers.

• Just because an environment is not 'rated' for what you need, doesn't mean it is not possible that you get what you need. So you would then have screening/measure to ensure only passing parts are produced.

Apologies, but for not understanding clearly the question.

Let me try again:

• So the illig value for your particular environment if 750?
• The max value for the component is 500

Hence,

• Yes, YOUR environment is not adequate for the process.

However,

• That is not the only factor. Particles can come from more than the environment. They are generated as part of the process. Or just naturally over time. But if the environment is not adequate, then you now have an additional variable that can cause particles of this level.
