Where practical, I am a big fan of verification between calibrations. This can often be done quickly, easily, and cheaply. In a past job, I had more than half my measurement systems verified daily and many others verified monthly.
Doing this gave a great deal of confidence to the internal suppliers and customers of the measurement data. It also impressed the heck out of many external customers.
