Volkswagen Requirements for Internal Auditors

According to VW's latest Formel Q Capability manual, internal audits must be conducted by qualified ISO 19011 auditors. What does it mean to be qualified to ISO 19011?

ISO 19011 provides GUIDANCE on qualification and competence establishment of auditors for quality and environmental management systems. Since it is a guidance document, it is not easy for one to establish "conformance" against it's criteria.

ISO 19011 is under revision to make it more generic and allow it's usage in other types of management systems, beyond quality and environmental systems, such as food safety, information security, occupational health and safety, etc...

Please note that there is a US-version of ISO 19011 which provides guidance beyond the text of ISO 19011 to focus on the different aspects of auditing management systems, such as 1st, 2nd and 3rd party audit roles.

On Tuesday I am going to be at Volkswagen in Chattanooga, TN for some role playing/tech review as a potential for a job as an auditor in the body shop. Has anyone out there been through it? Is there anything I can prepare for?
