Warehouse Layout Design

I used to work for a spare parts company suppling parts to construction equipment users world wide. This meant a very large no. of unique parts in varying sizes and quantitys. Among other things, we took great pains to minimize the distance each item travelled (seconds would add up to enormous amount of time), and this clearly showed in the warehouse layout.

Can you tell us a bit about what the warehouse is supposed to hold (quantitys, sizes and so on)?

Just a little consideration, pay attention at the security!

For example if you use a forklift, it could be a good approach a restrict access control at the warehouse.
