Hi.
I went to a seminar yesterday where the differences between QS9000 and TS16949 were presented. The seminar was given by a BSI auditor.
He claims that we cannot simply want to be certified to TS16949. We have to have a written request from an automotive customer asking us to become certified. This letter has to accompany the RFQ to the registrar for them to even send me a quote. I asked him where this was written, and he told me to look on the IAOB.org site. I did and found nothing.
Is this true. If so, can you point me where this is written.
Thanks,
P.S. BSI is not our registrar. I have left a message with our registrar but have yet to receive an response.
