Auditors should stick with auditing and not utter non-relevant comments
Absolutely correct...however, the problem is the auditor likely
thought it
was relevant.......and apparently no-one knew enough to point out the error of his/her ways.
The dilemma is that everyone (well, mostly) is trying to get 'value' out of their CB audits and so do many of the CB auditors. The difficulty faced, then, is deciding when a comment is well placed and accurate or not - and sometimes the client doesn't know, doesn't want to seem 'dumb' and doesn't know the auditor doesn't know better, either......
