What are the current ISO/ TS 16949 Semiconductor Manufacturer Requirements

Any product which is used in an automotive product (according to the IATF 16949 Rules may qualify. Doesn't need to be in the PO, and there are specifics now, in IATF 16949 which go beyond the basics of ISO 9001 which can be very important, especially if the semi-conductor is supplied programmed...

Thanks Coury and AndyN. My opinion was, and still is, that currently Semiconductor companies are required to follow IATF 16949.

Now what are their (Tier-1) suppliers supposed to be following in terms of quality standard? For example, if supplier A that provides paint or coating materials, or supplier B that provides speciality gas used to deposit dopant in the chip, would the expectations be different from A to B?

Is the requirement dependent on the product application?
 
So, in general terms, the tier 1s are supposed to be IATF 16949 because they provide production parts for use in "on the road" cars and trucks. The tier 1's suppliers are supposed to be, at least, ISO 9001:2015 registered and be working towards IATF 16949 and the tier 3s the same...
