Please let's not get personal. The intent here is to help, not to accuse....
We all can get emotional (myself included) when topics are discussed that are near and dear to our hearts. I learned to look at the intent of the response. Life at The Cove became a lot more pleasant for me....;)

Quite honestly I've never assumed that you know anything at all. I am in fact continuously amazed at the intellect and knowledge that you display here.

The subject of the question was secondary containment and I responded the primary environmental requirement is for hazardous waste, but then there is 40CFR 112 and its requirements also. There are a couple of other secondary containment requirements, but none that would effect our friend the original poster I'm sure. The guy just wanted to know what the requirements were and the conversation just flowed.

Thanks for the clarification Randy. I wouldn't say that that the requirements for secondary containment are "primary", just that they are requirements. How do you even know the poster has any secondary containment requirements under RCRA? How do you know what would affect the poster? I don't see that information in the posts above.

My main concern is that you associated a legal requirement with the requirements of ISO 14001. Not all organizations implement ISO 14001, or are required to.

I must also admit that I am amazed by your intellect.

He mentioned EPA and DEQ (lives in Michigan so he probably wasn't thinking about the DEQ in Guam or Wyoming). He also mentioned 10% which is failry common under RCRA and hazwaste secondary containment. He also posted in the 14001 and environmental related standards Forum. Additionally he stated in his profile he is the TS Coordinator and his company is TS 16949 and about 999 out of 1000 TS registered companines are also required to have a registered EMS by their customers. I kinda guessed he might be involved in 14001 somehow. So the duh factor kicked in.

As for my intellect, I dunno, maybe my past MENSA membership had something to do with it. Or I'm just a late bloomer

You just answered a similar question I was about to ask.

And just in case anyone is interested legislation here in Western Australia is quite complex in its requirments distinguishing between different size containers, whether they are inside or outside a building, and including making bunds able to catch spillages that may under pressure land some distance for their ruptured container.
