What constitutes QUALITY OBJECTIVES! I have problem with my auditor

Quality objectives could be plain statement of measurable objectives for each dept.functions or it could be a balanced score card. as in the attachments.

Those are good examples. Automotive customers require on time delivery objective to be 100%.

Where is it stated that ALL functions and levels shall have objectives? My copy of 9001 doesn't have that requirement, so are there different versions that we can pick and choose from?

I do have increased productivity as one of our objectives, I see nothing wrong with it at all. All of our objectives are stated as facility objectives. Of course, to accomplish that objective, sales has to sell the stuff, scheduling has to schedule it, production has to produce it, testing lab has to test it, and shipping has to keep stuff going out the door (not to mention IT, accounting, maintenance, etc.) Pick your objectives, do what needs to be done, wherever it needs to be done. Chances are there are a lot of folks that can make or break your efforts.

after my clarification, please let me know,is it sufficient for auditor to cover 5.4 and 8.2.3?
our auditor from IMQ(Italy) does not accept this form to cover 5.4(quality objective )requirments.he said that u should have quality objectives and this table only have target of process not quality objectives for organization.
I am not agree with him coz I think if all process achieve their target then organization achieve goals.
are we need to have another document for to show our quality objectives and then set target for process or our table that set target for process is sufficient for cover 5.4 and 8.2.3?

So post the rest of the objectives so we can better answer.

There is nothing wrong with having objectives that fill the requirments of more than one element of the standard.

The standard says that you need to establish objectives at relevant functions and levels. It looks like you're establishing them for the various processes, which I think is a good approach. I haven't seen all of your objectives, but I believe the approach you've taken meets requirements. If you could post them all I might be able to give a more definitive answer.

It sounds like your auditor is looking specifically for just top-level quality objectives for organization. This isn't correct. The auditor doesn't get to decide what levels the objectives are established at.
