In the world of TS what do other suppliers define as documents of external origin? Does this include prints sent by customers, customers speciications included as part of a contract,or included as part of the automotive supplemental requirements to TS, consensus standards (ASTM, ISO, etc)?

If it's the same as 9K:2K, yes. Documents of external origin are any documents that you don't generate internally...i.e., customer drawings, customer specs, ASTM test methods, etc. etc. etc.

The level of control you exercise over these documents is up to you, though - depends on the origin, the purpose, and the end use.
