For some reason I got hooked on Lillian Jackson Braun's Cat Who mystery series. I have almost every book! There's like 20 something books in the series?
I get a kick out of the Cat Who books too. Like you, who knows why, must be a cat thing. I am really a book gourmand. I have a huge rubbermaid tub of paperbacks that my kids boxed up one day while I was at work plus another big cardboard box. They complained that there was no place left in the bookshelves.
Have you read any of Joan Hess's books? She infuses a twisted sort of humor into her mystery/detective books that's quite unexpected. One book that stands out in my memory is Closely Akin to Murder. A good, quick read.
