Excuse me please I have to pause here and go grab my websters hang on... :p Kidding aside I have great fun reading your posts/replies, so it is a real pleasure to meet you. As for the whole AOL and nick/number thing, I am not sure of what it dictates, but I throw my AOL CD out with the cereal box. I like original, that way I hear when they are speaking about me.

Moderator note: This post (and some others) has [have?] been copied over from the "New Folks" thread. I thought some other foliks might like to add THEIR uses for old cds.

See! You may be green [new], but you are not green [conservation-minded] enough. Most of the rest of us have an entire panoply of uses for those AOL cds (also the ones that don't take a "burn" when trying to rip something cool off the internet.)
Some of MY uses:
  1. drink coasters
  2. signal mirrors (sight through the center hole)
  3. garden protectors (hang on strings stretched across the garden - the flashing reflections startle deer and birds alike. I think the raccoons use them as a grooming aid, though!)
  4. replacement "pigeons" for trap shooting
  5. child size Frisbees to use in Frisbee Golf
  6. carpet skates - glue them to the bottom of shower clogs
  7. large wheels for homemade toys
  8. juggling props

Hey Wes & Dammit-

How about sharpening the edges of the AOL CD's, mounting them in handles, and using them as pizza slicers?

I would also suggest using them as props in fake UFO videos, but it has probably already been done.

That only works for those "soft crust" microwave pizzas. For the home made crisp crust (say that three times fast!:tg:), I use a big machete - it doesn't drag the cheese and sauce into a heap on the cutting board!

You can use the cds on the candles as wax drip shields when you have that intimate dinner of good wine and pizza.:cool:

You kind, kind, man!! You broke down "green" and "burn" for me, but forgot to speak v e r y s l o w l y! :p too funny, and I recycle, you should see how often I eat left overs. As for the crisp crust, if you are doing it right you should be able to slice it on the pan... save the cost of a machete anyways! *grin*

Yes, Wes, I too have some of those 'other media', but I've been replacing the old titles with cd versions..:lol: That way I can play them in the car;)
