What is ISO 18902? Does anyone know? Imaging Materials

Just curious to see if anyone here has heard of this ISO standard and if so, what is it? I think it is related to paper (as in paper crafting?) and/or photographic processes, but I'm not certain.

I saw reference to it in a product catalog of a well-known company in the papercraft industry (advertising that their products were produced in compliance to ISO 18902, etc.).

Hello GSTough:

ISO has published oodles of product standards. The history of ISO is built around the standardization of products (ISO = Equal, as in isotope.)

The name of ISO is the International Organization for Standardization. The acronym, if we are using the name of the organization, would be IOS.

They chose "ISO" to imply equality.

Anyway, management system standards are something new. The majority of all ISO standards are product related. There are billions and billions of ISO product standards. Okay, so I am exaggerating but check out the attached file. It explains how standards are cataloged and gives you an idea of how extensive the ISO library is.

You may even be able to find ISO 18902 on the list or at least its general category.

Thanks, Cari and Coury. Until I came across that reference in the catalog, I had no idea there was an ISO standard for photographic materials, paper, filing & storage items....
