In ISO 9004:2000, except from Cost of Quality, there is life cycle costing that does not consistence with ISO 9001:2000. What is the life cycle costing? Why it is so important in performance improvemnt?
LCC => A Life Cycle Cost Analysis is a method of calculating the cost of a system over its entire life span.
Basically, you can buy something cheap and then pay a fortune to keep it in working order, or pay more when you buy it and maybe get away with lower maintenance costs.
I think LCC belongs to reliability and this has to be done during the design process itself becos we have to determine the reliability of the product and determine the LCC. I think since reliability also goes in with quality it is better to start a forum for reliability. Can any body suggest to Marc regarding this.
Thanks

I make a decision to researching on Life Cycle Costing. Please tell me the publications on the topic. I think it will help not only in manufacturing but also in marketing, especially in selling. You can satisfy more to your customers by using Life Cycle Costing.
