Yep, exactly.
Consistancy is king here!
If you can cool down your parts evenly, quickly and consistantly, you're process is only bound to benefit.

Here is the question. There are two parts with same thickness and same geometry. But cooling time differs.

Mold A: Part-a, size: 22", weight: 1.1lbs, cooling time: 42 sec.--> 0.026 lbs/sec cooling
Mold B: Part-b, size: 32", weight: 2.2lbs, cooling time: 56 sec.--> 0.039 lbs/sec cooling

How would you evaluate these conditions? THANKS:bonk:

Are these parts from seperate molds? If so, they can be evaluated seperately.
If on the other hand they both run fom the same mold (god I hate family tools) then you're going to be limited by the longer of the two cooling times.

You have twice as much mass in the larger piece, but proportionally less surface area. Time to get your thermodynamics engineer involved.

Not necessarily at the injection molding cycle time, but thinking outside the box you could consider reviewing how effective and planned is your preventive maintenance program, and your production planning in terms of mold changes and color changes.

This 42" LCD likely using hot runner system valve gate. If add on a rapid fast heat & cool molding temperature controller will help to reduce cycle time & helps to resolve weld line. My 2 cents thought!
