What quality training do you suggest?

ok.... so like I thought I know what Quality is and why we need it, BUT my knowledge is limited as shown by my pre-test score:nope: Hopefully this course will whip me into quality shape :whip:

Also with taking the online course do you think ordering a handbook would be beneficial?

For each of my certifications I used supplemental material... I started with general handbooks and read other material depending on the topic. I had done a variety of self-guided study in my youth and I had a rather thorough experimental background so self-directed research is something I was very comfortable with.

My goal was to expand my quality knowledge that when I talk to other Quality representatives in other companies, I don't sound like an idiot, if that makes sense. Also I had to get a title for my role. Didn't think Quality Manager was appropriate with the lack knowledge that I currently possess compared to my previous Quality Managers.
I worked my way up in quality and am now in management. I have ADHD and stumble and forget words A LOT. Sometimes when my brain gets hung up on a word, I make up a little jibberish. Honestly, we're all human and it took coming to management for me to see just how human some people are.

Titles are stupid, but a necessary requirement for any job. In my experience, a Quality Coordinator is actually ABOVE a Quality Manager. It just depends on the organization.

As far as your initial question about education/training-honestly, it depends on what field your facility is in, if your company is preparing for ISO certification, I recommend Certified Auditor training in ISO standards in addition to your CQE training from ASQ

It would be interesting to get an update from the OP. I wonder how they're doing.

when I was exploring, I stumbled upon this thread and responded without looking at the date, but I'm a little curious myself, knowing its been a while since the OP posted initially

If you've read through it you've seen all the conversation so far. The training one wants to take has to be dependent upon the goal they wish to achieve. A vast majority of what people take and get can be classified as "gee whiz-golly gee, ain't that cool" ending up with the same result a wetting ones self while wearing dark clothes, it warms them and nobody notices. I delivered around 200 odd Lead Auditor courses over the years for which a good many of the professionals I met got little or nothing in return besides a cool certificate with some scribble & numbers on it. Harsh fact but true and I hate that for them.

Don't waste your money and especially your time, which cannot be replaced, taking stuff of which you can't reasonably reason achieving personal gain from. (I did that with my DBA program. I'd actually get little more than a warm fuzzy being able to be called Doctor, in my career field over the last 20 years....No benefit at all to me or anyone else other than feeding my ego).
