What to consider in 6.4 work environment? ISO 9001:2008

Q

QAMTY

Hi everybody

I'm setting up an Iso 9001:2008 system
I have a question, I hope you are able to help me
In clause 6.4 (ISO 9001:2008)
It only mentions noise, temperature, humidity, etc., but in the vocabulary (9000:2005) it refers to psichologycal and social issues.
Do We have to consider which is in the vocabulary as well?
And would it be auditable?
On the other, we produce plastic boxes, there are some machines with noise of 75 db,our people use security gloves to handle the boxes and earplugs to protect from noise.
The question is:
Do I have to include something written in procedures or somewherelse for safety and noise.
Should I have to consider my local regulations? or maybe it's enough to mention in the Quality manual that we use gloves and foam earplugs to protect ourselves against noise?

How do you suggest to manage this issue?

I really appreciate your feedback
Thanks

QAMTY,

Had ISO 9000 been specified as an informative reference it would not affect the requirements specified by ISO 9001.

Being as ISO 9000 is specified as a normative reference to ISO 9001 it's definitions are combined with ISO 9001 to specify the requirements.

So, you should include the psychological and social factors if they could adversely affect the quality of the processes/products. Or to put the requirement another way, the work environment has to be conducive to quality.

As to documenting these controls, continue to be informed by clause 4.2.1d. Remember, your signage such as "wear your ear protection" is already part of your management system.

Lastly, caring for the requirements of the organization's customers without caring for the requirements of its employees is unlikely to engage the employees in meeting requirements.
