Trainning in ISO TS and supplements

Hi everyone, :bigwave:

We are ISO 9001:2000 certified and thinking to be ISO TS 16949:2000 certified too. Many people shall be trainned in many subjects.
Must them (including our internal instructors) be trained (in ISO TS, APQP, MSA, CEP, FMEA, etc.) by an outside organization ? Is it possible to accept that they read and studied the appropriate manuals and just knows?

Thanks

Excellent question Celso! What training is required, and who does that training is strictly up to you, from the TS standpoint. However, as in the case of internal auditing, there are Customer Specific Requirements (CSR) that would make in-house training a bit difficult. So, I guess the bottom line is unless your customer specifies differently, you can use what ever way works.

Remember, the TS (and ISO) emphasis is on competency (can they do the job?), rather than did they attend specific classes. Although evidently, when it comes to internal auditing, the folks who make the rules apparently don't understand the concept and intent. :soap:

Refer to your customer specific requirements. They take precedence over the specification. Also you need to consider the training requirements for auditing your suppliers. Refer to the postings on the IAOB website.

As long as they are trained and conversant in the subject!!! What auditor could prove incorrect training when they themselves could not work themselves out of the training they received, They were trained as auditors, not people with hands-on knowledge!! (except occasionally).

To think about it, if people know what they do, do they need a signature proving it by a set of answers that even the trainer doesn't know the answer to?

How about letting people do their jobs and the assured variations that will come about due to nature.
