Hello again,

when I have to create PPAP Level 1, what data should be updated?
1. for an resubmission
2. for an initial submission
reason is: i can sign self by q1 self approval.

For everything except Level 4, the submission level dictates what gets submitted, not what gets produced in terms of documentation. So for a Level 1 submission, you are still obligated to have all of the relevant elements documented.

OK, just one more question.
What happend, when I only create PSW Cover page, and the documents behind are not created?

You're not following the rules. Look on pages 15 and 16 of the AIAG PPAP manual (3rd Edition). Regardless of the submission level, unless you have explicit waivers from the customer that supersede the default requirements, you are responsible for all of the elements every time PPAP is submitted.

If I understand correctly you have a customer that is requesting annual PPAP at level 1.
If this is the case and you have already submitted PPAP then you should have all the initial documents. You should be updating the Flow Chart, FMEA and Control plan as part of your regular actions.
The dimensional and functional report is probably required and can be united with the layout requirement.
Material certification,Capability studies,Gauge R&R, are on going.

The same is correct for other resubmissions such as change of material.

I would add that there is no requirement for annual PPAP submission. If a customer required it as a customer specific requirement, it would be subject to your negotiation and agreement on the contract. It isn't uncommon to charge additional fees for "extra" PPAP submissions.

Just as an added suggestion, as I have been in the same position myself:

Many customers think they are doing you a FAVOR by requiring an annual PPAP submission 'only Lvl 1'. This is because they don't read the manual, and don't understand all the work that is involved. A Lvl 1 (or 2) is exactly the same as a Lvl 3, except that you only submit portions of the package, not the whole thing.

Rather than continue on like this, I have suggested to customers that what they REALLY want is a Lvl 4, consisting of a PSW, current material, heat treat and plating certifications, and any other updated documentation (i.e. changes to PFMEA of Control Plan).

So far, I've had success with this, and have reduced my workload for annual submissions greatly.

If you do suggest this to your customer, and it is accepted, make sure you keep a record of their acceptance/approval.
