As a side note, my unofficial understanding is that US FDA is aware of the minimal difference between 14971 versions and classes, and while not requiring EN ISO 14971:2009, will accept it as the basis for a risk program. I'm told their focus is on the rigor and relevance of the analysis, not which edition or national version is used, as long as it is ISO 14971:2007 or later.
