Thanks for the XKCD link! If anyone needs to buy a last minute holiday gift I recommend the book that just came out by the author of XKCD: Randall Munroe. It is called "what if - Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions". I just bought it for my college age kid and I am looking forward to borrowing it from her.
