Where to acquire EN 868-5 required dye (Amaranth red)?

Hi,

the test method for pin hole testing in EN 868-5 (Annex C) requires a dye solution made from amaranth red and cetrimide. I am looking for a supplier of this dye.

Does anyone know where to buy it?

Maybe there is another name for it under which my search could be more successful?

I would suggest starting with a laboratory chemical supplier such as Sigma-Aldrich, they have the Amaranth red and various types of Cetrimide.

Thanks for the quick response, Chris. This is what I thought also, but there were safety concerns by my colleagues already some time ago. I have to find out what they were.
Is everybody who conducts these kind of pin hole tests mixing this dye by themselves?
