the africans played very well yesterday, I mean Ghana, for me they have the best performace till now in the mondeal intheir game against Czach ,

what made me surprised is what couch Karel BRUCKNER (CZE) said about the match :

"Firstly congratulations to the Ghana team. We don't take injury and tiredness as excuses for our defeat because our opponents played splendid attacking football today. We made defensive errors and our rivals looked constantly dangerous with their excellent midfielders" fifa.com

this is how sport should be ,

USA had a tremendous effort yesterday , they did well in the game againsts Italy ,that was extraordinary game for them .......

No doubt, the US played an excellent game of football against Italy.
As we say here, they played the game just for the game!

Portugal is like Brasil, they are just using what’s necessary to win and no more spending of unnecessary energies.
At the moment the best team seams to be Argentina, but in Europe is very difficult that the winner isn’t an European country...

I was disappointed with England's performance but happy with the result. Hopefully it means our form hasn't peaked too soon (it's bad news if it has).
I suppose there will be a sobering up period before we hear from any Australians. They've won a game of football and a game of rugby in the same week. This is history.

OK...Waiting period over...YES! Australia won against Japan 3-1 and we lost to Brasil 2-0 but we played far superior to them. Look at the one sided effort from the referee...Free kicks....Australia 9 - Brasil 25. Are these guys a protected species or what? People that take dives should be red carded!!!!

Australia beat Greece 1-0 and drew with Holland 1-1 leading up to the cup so we were in pretty good form.

Australia actually beat England Twice in seven days in Rugby and we did not have to kick a field goal to do it!!!!

I would like to see a repeat of the famous 1974 game - Holland vs. Germany and my vote goes for HOLLAND.
No 3 for Australia....yeah mate. Let's hope we can call it football in the future (it's called soccer for some reason).

Gary and everyone else that wants to know...Football is called Soccer in those countries that have OTHER football codes...i.e: Australia has Australian Rules, Rugby League and Rugby Union and these were all entrenched well before Soccer, in Australia. For example, the 1966 Australian side that played North Korea to see which team would go to the World Cup only had ONE Australian in the team....The rest were British citizens.

I agree that the referee was lopsided towards the brazilian squad. But Australia did not play better than Brazil. And, remember, Brazil played with 9 1/2 players for most of the game...against the 11 Australian players.

technically Argentina is the best team till now , in reality I've voted for them before in this poll ,they are the best ,I think Europe has nothing to say in this cup

for Australia , I think they played well against Brazil ,but although you have the same T shirt color of brazilian ,but you dont have the right to compare yr self to them, with all of my respect ,but you should thank god and then the penalties that defeated Uruguay.
