Carlos

I'm from Chihuahua, Mexico. Our company is trying to implement the new spec TS 16949, but we don't know how to make the transition from QS-9000 to TS16949.

Some one know how to make it?

Please don't think me impertinent, but since you are already QS-9000, what does your auditor/registrar say about the process?

Just looking for knowledge!

I would start with a gap analysis of QS9000 to TS16949. There is not that big a difference. (just my opinion)
Once you see the gaps, you can start making the changes necessary to be compliant to TS16949.
You have a choice of rewriting your procedures into the new "process oriented" format, or just keep them with the old 20 sections, and create a matrix showing where the applicable "shalls" are covered.
We have TS16949:99 here, and I'm just in the middle of creating that matrix to TS16949:2002.....
Some of the areas I noticed needed "beefing up" were Internal Auditing, In house Laboratory (for QS to TS), Customer Focus, Management Review and Internal/Customer Communication.

Good Luck....:D

Sporty is right on. There is not that much of a difference. If you have had any exposure to VDA6, you'll notice its influence. Create your matrix(QS vs TS-2002 comparison) and do a gap analysis. I thought we had something like that here in the cove already. Do a search and also look in the pdf library.

There is a procedure to make the transition from QS9000 to TS16949?. We are certified since 1999, and we took some courses for TS, but it was very clear, is the reason that we are need help about it.

I was wondering if some one can help us.

Yet another unknown.....

Ok here is my wonderful "Confused by the ISO MAFIA" question...the Big 5 and several Tier One's have made the statements about upgrading to TS soon (I've seen Dec 2002-2003-2006 all from GM) But irregardless Visteon for exapmle has said yes be transitioned third party by the middle of next year, If the version 2 of TS was just released 5/28, and not many Auditors are trained on it yet...can I roll up the cost of the transition to an already obsolete specification into my part cost because thy are being pig headed about all of this? If in the case of visteon, I only transition to the 1st version of TS will I still be losing the 5 points on my quality rating anyway? Shoot me now or give me your feelings on what this situationis all about...By the way , anyone know of a registrar that wants a nice sized account that won't rob me on "Incidental" costs?

There is a beutiful Gap Analysis with ref to TS-16949. You can use and see for the diffefence between two. I got more stuff on this difference between two Automotive standards, ISO/TS 16949:2002 vs. QS 9000. But at this time see attach file for Gap Analysis.
eye I want to attach the file; How do i do??????

I also have a gap analysis available to anyone who is transitioning from QS-9000 to TS 16949:2002. If I don't figure out how to post it, you may contact me for a copy of my analysis.
Regards
Marjie :D

How to add an attachment - Gap Analysis

From the FAQ page:

To attach a file to a new post, simply click the [Browse] button at the bottom of the post composition page, and locate the file that you want to attach from your local hard drive.

This is available when posting a reply but not when you edit.

I am attaching my gap analysis of TS v/s QS. The last column will show an asterick if there were any changes from the draft version, even if it was a wording change.

Marjie
