I just completed an Internal Audit to ISO9001:2015 and I have a nonconformance on 5.2.2 Communication of Quality Policy after interviewing operators on all three shifts.

My company is now registered to ISO9001:2015. The journey was rather bumpy as this was the first time the CB auditor was auditing to ISO9001:2015. There were few nonconformance which needed to be appealed. Most of those findings were, according to the CB, opportunities for improvement. Most importantly, I would like to advise that clients should never tolerate the demeanor of difficult auditors. Use the appeal process for the clients benefit.

Last year I asked the Cove for a good presentation for top management. From the feedback I gathered I made the following outline presentation which caught the attention of the Top Management. Next year everyone was mobilized to move towards transition and not wait till 2018. More power to the Elsmar Cove moderators!!:applause::applause::thanx:

I was wondering how detailed you have to be in consideration of the "context of organization". I have a excel spread sheet list of the internal and external parties with brief statement on the roles each play. Do I need to do an "risk assessment" on each one?

For those of you already certified to 9001:2015, and CB auditors, I would be interested in how many ways this is being documented?

There is no requirement for documented information concerning 4.1.1 which presents the context of the organization. If you choose not to maintain (document) or retain (record) such documented information, the auditor needs to determine you practice by interview and observation.

One way to maintain a record of this would be on how you answer on the the management review questions. 9.3.2b "changes in external and internal issues that are relevant to the quality management system". This would be a good place to document discussion and review of both 4.1 & 4.2.

I am sorry for the delayed response. I am currently going through a stage 2 of TS16949. Here's what we did: We listed all the interested parties and reviewed their specific requirements during our initial Management Review. I do not have a detailed spreadsheet or anything. There is no requirement for a formal risk assessment on the interested parties but the processes that are associated with the requirements of these interested parties. That's how we did it. The documentation was reviewed during management review.

I read the comments and responses in this thread and echo many such sentiments. Some experiences are similar. We did have an integrated management system that exceeded QMS/EMS requirements to start with.

We successfully completed our transition to both ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 in May/June 2016. Since multiple sites were involved in this transition, a structured program management approach was used. I have described our experience through this Standard Outlook QP publication Ready-Set-Transition and Overview presentation. Also, see another publication from Journal for Quality Participation - Digging deeper into ISO 9001:2015. This captures my discussion with our COO during the ISO 9001:2015 implementation.

During my implementation ISO/TS 9002:2016 was not released. This is a useful document to review for those who are in the process of implementation or yet to start their implementation.
