Well, there are procedures and such on the site in the QS area, And there is the forum to peruse where many, many people ask questions and get answers. Umm, Jack Kanholm has a book or two which are fair and basic. Personally I would start by getting copies of all the standards (QS9000, APQP, SPC, MSA, etc) and read them. Then take a look at your organization and try to match up requirements with things you do now. Now ask yourself what the standards (well, QS9000 and it's 'reference' manuals are really CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS, not specifications per se) require that you don't do. There you have it - A gap analysis (NOTE: IMHO The QSA sucks other than as a *VERY* basic check.). Plan systems to address problem and nonexisting areas and there you have it!
