We are installing a new shop floor control software, and I need some input on document control. We control our manufacturing processes with process procedures, and capability studies. These are documented and controlled thru revision level. The job travellers will have some job specific instructions on them but on the whole will simply describe the order in which things are done. Very few people have access to the edit function for the routings. Would it be sufficient to write a procedure to define who and how these travellers are edited, and control the traveller as a form? Trying to maintain the KISS principle here. James IP: Logged |

You could identify that "Only the electronic file copy stored on 'X:\masterfiles\whatever'is controlled. All other copies electronic or paper are uncontrolled. To verify current revision level refer to 'so-and-so' or 'location of master list'. IP: Logged |
