Does ISO-9001 require that we have an internal audit of the QS Manual?

Our external auditing company requires us to send them out QS Manual for auditing prior to their auditor coming to our plant.

Thanks,

Hi,
I think it's right first to all to control if your QS manual is conform to the ISO90001.
In QS manual there are the describtion of your QS and if somebody wants to know how you work he can find in it good replyes.
When last october my enterprise was QS9000 certified we had to give to the certification society our QS manual several months before.
After its evaluation we had to change some paragrafs and then after a new evaluation they visited us.

Not literally, but it is a good idea when a system is first established. Quality audits are to "verify whether activities and related results comply with planned arrangements·" Since the QS Manual could be considered the 'planned arrangements,' perhaps an assessor may look at this, but that is probably a stretch. Perhaps not.

Years ago, that was standard practice. Now it is less so, but still practiced somewhat for ISO, more so for QS. Personally, I always like to see the QS manual prior to assessing a company. It might be a good idea to identify the document as controlled or not prior to dispatch to the external auditor.

Regards,
Don
