It appears to me that the "Monitoring and measurement requirement" mentioned in 8.2.4 of the new ISO 9001:2000: "The organization shall monitor and measure the characteristics of the product to verify that product requirements are fulfilled..." is the same recommendation as in 7.5.1e).
In this case, wouldnât it be normal and advisable to show some kind of cross-reference, not only as shown in 8.2.4 (with a reference to 7.1), but also between both requirements: 7.5.1e) and 8.2.4?

I wouldn't get too excited about the differences. 8.2.4 just amplifies 7.5.1e a bit.

While a cross reference might be nice it could get messy. There are a number of places where there are 'redundancies' just as there was in the 1994 version.
