For ISO 9001 2000, is keeping hard copies of the quality documents necessary? Or are softcopies enough? I don't know, do the requirements say anything about this? IP: Logged |

From ISO 9000:2000 page 14 3.7.2 reference documentation...." the medium can be paper, magnetic, electronic or optical computer disc, photograph, or master sample, or a combination thereof"i.e. frequentlt call documentation...... IP: Logged |

Unless I've not interpreted it correctly - new vocabulary of definitions tells us. Documents can be in any of the following formats: (and the big key for us here is) "OR A COMBINATION THEROF - We create handwritten inspection records & scan them into a computer database - to save filling up file cabinets.
