I recently reviewed the the PPAP manual trying to get clarification as to how many samples must be submitted per AIAG. It does not seem to specify except for "1 per cavity". Many customers ask for 2 samples to be shipped to them but others ask for just one. We are also to keep 1 master sample here.
What is industry standard for Tier 1 and 2 suppliers? Ship one sample or two? Thanks

I don't believe there is a definitive industry standard. Even within the same OEM we have been asked to submit different sample sizes.

What we do is determine during the APQP (PR) process what the customer requirements are and also keep two "master samples" from the submission as a match against the PSW information.

I agree with ASD. Refer to 1.2.3.16 of the PPAP manual.
