I've never heard of this - has anyone else here?? ---------snippo---------- Subject: Q: Band Lengths on CMM /Shibley From: [email protected] We had a curious question brought to us the other day, the question was about our band width on our CMM. We believe it is . 0005." How ever being in a metal stamping environment, the question was "How does band width relate to accuracy"? I am afraid that I did not have the answer. For Calibration needs and the accuracy of collected data how important is "Band Width" and how does that relate to the question of shortening or lengthening the width itself? Dan Shibley IP: Logged |

I have programmed a touch probe CMM for years, and tried to keep up with the latest, but I have never heard of "band width." Do they mean volumetric accuracy? Precision? Repeatability? IP: Logged |

I have asked a bunch of folks who are 'CMM Jockeys' and they have never heard of it either. They look at me like I'm weird (which may be part of the problem and may be true, but has nothing to do with the question....). I'm gonna write [email protected] and see if we can find out. IP: Logged |
