Some definitions used in industry for availability and reliability: Availability is the percent of time the unit is available to produce in any given time period. %Availability = ((hours in period) - (forced outage and scheduled maintenance))/(hours in period) X 100 Reliability is the percent of time the unit is not down due to forced outages, unplanned, or unscheduled maintenance, in any given period of time. % Reliability = ((hours in period) - (forced outage))/(hours in period) X 100 Use factor is the percent of time the unit operates in any given period of time. % Use factor = (unit operating hours)/(hours in period) X 100 IP: Logged |
