A good read. Wonder if that's in a work instruction... IP: Logged |

Yea, I thought it was good as well. Makes one look outside oneās own paradigm for a while. Work Instructions? Na, just adequate resources, including the assignment of trained personnel, probably. :>) Regards, IP: Logged |

Sounds like a Tom Peters rehersal. I actually worked for a company that looked at paradigms as a challenges. Sometimes it got downright silly, but imagine working for a management system that awaits suggestions like yelling orders and throwing fish. IP: Logged |

Down in Gallipolis there is a small 'old fashion' hamburger-malt shop where the burgers are pretty good and they do the order shouting thing. It's kinda a nice 'feature'. They also have a special raised table where they place some newspapers to browse - some folks take them to their table. I browsed while waiting for a take-out order. IP: Logged |

You may have heard this paradigm story before, but do you know who invented the digital wristwatch? Did you say the Japanese? It was the Swiss. The patent was applied for in Geneva. Unfortunately, they were so wrapped up in their own paradigm that they could not imagine anyone NOT buying a 17 jewel, excruciatingly made fine mechanical watch. So the Japanese took the idea and ran with it. One of those stories that come to mind when paradigm is mentioned. IP: Logged |
