Are there any reasons for restricting the distribution of different levels of documentation. What Clauses in the standard (we are not certified yet and are interested only in the DIS 9001:2000) govern this area, if any? Our documentation system is largely electronic, that is on the network. Hence the physical management of distribution of documents is a lot less tedious than if we were handling hard copies. We are thinking of letting most people (meaning not differentiating between Managers, supervisors and operators) have access to all the documents (level 1,2 and 3) that we post on the network. All these documents are really not secret or confidential within the company. Thank you and look forward to your response. IP: Logged |

Actually, we have the same setup. All terminals have access to all the Quality Procedures, and serves as a master list or equivalent. Our concentration is on making certain people read the documents they need to read, not keep them from reading others. Anyway, cross-training is good. AJP IP: Logged |
