Our service manager receives prints from our customer by email for a small build job along with a P.O. He prints them and distributes copies to manufacturing. He wants to know if the copies should be marked ãControlled Copyä. I told him that we should treat them the same way we treat our in-house designs which we mark ãControlled Copyä. He says that they are not our designs and therefore do not need to be controlled. I say that if the prints are going out to the floor for manufacture, they need to be controlled. I completely agree with Laura (how could you not). We chose to stamp ours. The method of control must be defined somewhere (if not obvious - stamping and placing in some form of document retention for later retrieval). Tell him that if the control mechanism is not obvious then he'll need to write a procedure and indicate the method of control... that usually gets them. Best of luck! IP: Logged |
